I came across an application today called Pollux, which is an iTunes-based application for tagging songs quickly and easily. On launch, a menu bar icon comes up, along with a splash screen. The splash screen is the best place to get started, as it allows one to figure out all that it does. Basically, from what I could gather, its main purpose is to detect what a song is and tag it automatically, as opposed to making you do it by hand. In order to try this feature out, I took a song from my iTunes library, dropped it onto my desktop, and converted it to an MP3.This alone removed just about all the tags. I then renamed it to “song.mp3,” and I put it back into iTunes. Lastly, I clicked “Tag Selected iTunes Tracks” from the menu bar menu, and, within about 20 seconds or less, the song was tagged perfectly with its name, artist, album, album art, and more. Overall, I highly recommend Pollux, and, at a price point of only $10 U.S. for an unlimited version, it is definitely worth it. Go check them out and tell them Ben sent you.
