Review of CurrencyConverter

Today I am reviewing CurrencyConverter, which is actually a simple but free dashboard widget for, as the name suggests, converting currency. I came across the widget while perusing VersionTracker, which is one of my favorite sites for finding new freeware. Anyway, I downloaded the widget and opened it up in my Dashboard, and it popped up in a few seconds with its options. There are four drop-down menus, each with over 200 different currencies, some being defunct, and some even being virtual, like Second Life.

You can choose the original currency you need to convert in the top box, and then have it convert to up to three others. The best part about it, though, is that it automatically updates exchange rates. I updated it with the refresh button in the bottom-left corner, and it got brand new data about the latest exchange rates for the day, which is something that is lacking in other apps like it. There are also many options for customization, like skins, decimal place options, etc. It’s a great full-featured widget, and the developer is offering it totally free with only a request for a donation, so check it out at their site, download a copy, and send them a few bucks if you like it.
